In Drupal's Boost module, there is a feature setting a cookie called DRUPAL_UID that then lets Apache (or whatever web server you have) avoid serving cached pages to authenticated users. Well it seems this feature was broken sometime in 2011-2012 (before July 2012), so you might have banged your head against the wall trying to understand why your login box still appeared after login, or some similar effect. Well, bang it no longer.

This must appear in one opportunity in 1000, but it happened to me, so I bet it might have just happened to you... Munin is great, Nginx is great, and SSL is great, but when you mix all of them together, you might get some frustrating behaviour. If you don't know it already, you can test the results of a Munin plugin on Debian-based systems with the command

sudo munin-run [plugin]

For example, if your nginx_status graph in the Munin web interface is empty, you can try

sudo munin-run nginx_status

The name of the plugin will auto-complete with the TAB key, with any plugin

In Ubuntu, the shipped Firefox 15 comes with the new embedded HTML5 PDF reader disabled. It is easy to enable though. Go to "about:config", search on "pdf" and switch the "pdfjs.disabled" entry to "false". Restart Firefox and test it pointing to some PDF URL. In case it does not work, have a look at the "Portable Document Format (PDF)" type to action association in "Edit->Preferences->Applications" and set it to the internal Firefox preview.

For one of our developments, Julio found an interesting JQuery library which allows you to change colours on the fly, find the other colours on a colour wheel, "summing up" colours (make yellow + blue = green), etc. Find out more about the xcolor plugin.

The written proceedings of the 2011's International Conference on e-Learning in Serbia caught my eye with an article called "HYBRID MODEL FOR E-LEARNING QUALITY EVALUATION" by Suzana Savić, Miomir Stanković and Goran Janaćković, not actually for the hybrid model (although it has its merits), but mainly for listing projects analysing different aspects of e-learning quality (resulting in evaluation models) actually available right now, which I want to list here for later reference:

Tagalog is the national language of Philippines and, although it's now written mainly in latin fonts (as Wikipedia reports), it can also be found written using the Baybayin script.Well, somehow, it seems difficult to find any relevant information on how to display Baybayin fonts in your browser in Ubuntu.
