I was recently asked to highlight the differences between Moodle and Chamilo. From what I’ve observed, both LMS platforms seem to offer similar features through comparable modules.

What sets Chamilo apart from Moodle?

Quite easy to start Chamilo Rapid on your own computer with OpenOffice.org v3 installed:

soffice -nologo -nofirststartwizard -headless -norestore -invisible "-accept=socket,host=localhost,port=2002,tcpNoDelay=1;urp;"

Then just go into your portal admin page and configure the Chamilo Rapid as localhost on port 2002 and save.

It's been my privilege and pleasure to work in the e-learning field for the last 7 year. Somehow, having a teacher as a mother and a computer scientist as a father, it was kind of a natural outcome that I'd be an e-learning specialist.

Introduction

2010 has globally been a challenging year for BeezNest.

Dear all, As this is my first post as an official member of the Chamilo community please allow me to introduce myself, I am Cedric and I am currently in charge of Business Development at BeezNest. Today was the first day of the AELF show at CNIT, Paris (www.aelf.fr), which I attended.

The documentation to install BigBlueButton 0.64 on CentOS (and on most other distributions) is really excellent. However, I found that CentOS 5.5 had not been documented yet, so I tried it and run into a few problems. I explain below how to get it all sorted out. I installed CentOS5.5 from a DVD in "server" mode, so without graphical interface.
